We started as a food business in Kuopio in 2013 with the concept
Kreppikeidas, offering French-style savory and sweet crepes with
flavors tailored to Finnish tastes at the Kuopio Market Square. In
2016, in addition to market sales, we joined the nationwide
summer-to-fall food event, Street Food Fiesta, where we grew into a
significant player with multiple concepts. During the event, we had,
among other things, a Greek village with five different stations.
The arrival of the coronavirus brought challenging times with
restrictions on restaurant and event operations. In Kuopio, we took
a bold step right at the start of the pandemic and opened a
restaurant space under the market square in Apaja with the concept
Fritters!
After the summer of 2021, we expanded our operations to Oulu, first
to the market square, and in the fall of 2022, we opened The Big Fat
Greek Gyros restaurant (Hallituskatu 26, 90100 Oulu). At the Kuopio
Market Square, in addition to traditional pita, salad, and platter
dishes, we have offered a Greek home-style buffet for several years.
In Oulu, we also transformed the restaurant into a similar buffet in
the fall of 2023, and the locals loved it.
Greek food buffets are still relatively rare in Finland. Due to
overwhelmingly positive feedback, we changed the Fritters! concept
in Kuopio's Apaja to a Greek home-style buffet in January 2024.
During the summer season, we move to the market squares in both
cities, and the restaurants take a summer break.
